Inspired by the natural world, writer and poet Angela Jane Howard explores our complex relationship with nature, weaving together themes of conflict and reconciliation. Nature is often paralleled with the forces ruling human relations and the human predicament. The individual may be crushed by elemental forces, may read into them his or her own despair or misplaced hopes, but nature also has its unbeatable power of endurance, sometimes offering hope where devastation seems inevitable. Nature has the last word.
